By signing below, the Applicant agrees to comply with all rules of use, ordinances and related guidelines. In addition, permitee is responsible for payment of all fees and any damage done by attendees.

The permitee agrees to indemnify and hold the Village of Sherman harmless from and against all actions, claims, liabilities, or expenses of any kind (including, but not limited to reasonable attorney fees) which the Village of Sherman shall at any time incur by reason of injury or death of others or damage to property of others pursuant to granting of this application.

Any willful misrepresentation within the application will be grounds to terminate the reservation request.

Rules of Use

BLOCK PARTY:

The permitee will ensure the area of the party is clean and free of any obstructions, trash, and debris immediately following the end time of the event. Trash receptacles must be provided, present, and maintained during the event. Additional documentation required for application includes (1) 50% petition approved by residents within Block Party boundaries. (2) List of Vendors (3) List of planned activities, (4) Proof of liability insurance, naming the Village as additional insurance.

VILLAGE FACILITIES:

All facilities are first come first serve. Park pavilions at either Waldrop or Sherman Village Park may be reserved. Fees apply to permitted facilities. Below is a list of facilities permitted for reservation and applicable fees. Fees are subject to change. To check for availability, please email at info@shermanil.org or call at (217) 496-2621 or Sherman Village Administrative Offices, 401 St. John Drive, Sherman, IL 62684. Reservations should be submitted a minimum of seven (7) days in advance of the date of the prospective event.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

Refunds will not be given for voluntary cancellation by permit holder. Refunds will be given due to severe weather where event could not be held, or due to State of Illinois or Village emergency. Efforts will be made to reschedule the event prior refund.

Rules and Regulations:

  • Liquor is not permitted on park grounds without permit.
  • Parking is only permitted in designated parking locations.
  • Solicitation or sale of items is not permitted without Village authorization and appropriate permit.
  • Waldrop Park closes at Dusk. Sherman Village Park closes at Dusk ..
  • If requesting to use the large pavilion in Sherman Village Park with the fireplace, additional rules will apply.

Special Note: Additional fees will apply for requests of additional tables, chairs, trash receptacles etc. Failure to clean up after permit will result in additional fees. No nailing of items on any amenity. Items taped must be removed at the end of the permit reservation. All trash must be dumped in the trash receptacles provided.
